Fluency is engineered,
not guessed.
Most apps train recognition. Lingsoa trains exam-style output with a system that measures what you can actually do: listen, speak, read, and write.

"Short sessions win because consistency beats motivation."
Sentences build speakers.
Word lists build confusion.
We banned single-word flashcards because exams don't test isolated words. They test meaning in context.
Memorizing "Vol"
You memorize the word "Vol" = "Flight" (or "Theft"?). Without context, your brain hesitates.
"Mon vol part à 18h."
You learn "Vol" inside a real sentence. You get usage, grammar, and phrasing automatically.
Did you know? (i+1 Concept)
We introduce new material where most of the sentence is already understandable to you. This uses context to teach the missing piece (the new word) without you needing to memorize rules first. This mimics how you learned your first language.
If you can't say it,
you don't own it.
Tapping answers can feel productive. Speaking is what the exam requires.
"Je voudrais un rendez-vous."
What most apps allow
Progress without speaking. You build passive knowledge but freeze under pressure when asked to speak.
What Lingsoa enforces
Lessons don't move forward until you speak. We use speech-to-text to verify you can actually produce the sentence.
Roleplay Mode (Exam Pressure)
- Scripted Scenes: Real exam scenarios (e.g., convincing a friend, formal inquiry).
- One Attempt: No "try again" button during the flow. Simulates exam stress.
- Hidden Transcript: You must rely on your ears, not your eyes.
- Honest Grading: Feedback is clarity-based (what the system understood), not perfect phoneme scoring.
Review at the right time,
not the most time.
The goal isn't to review everything. It's to review what matters, right before you forget it.
Memory Strength
What is FSRS?
FSRS (Free Spaced Repetition Scheduler) is a modern algorithm that outperforms traditional methods (like Anki's SM-2). It calculates the "Retrievability" of a memory. We schedule a review exactly when your chance of recalling a sentence drops to 90%. This is the scientifically optimal moment to reinforce a memory.
We don't teach random French.
We teach the French you'll be tested on.
